Oh boy, thanks for the new acronym Panasonic. Introducing “LIFI” (it’s trademarked, so watch your step). It’s “a first-of-its-kind light fidelity projection display application that ensures images brightness over an extended period of time as well as greatly reduced start-up time.” Well there you have it.
Aside from quicker startup times and longer lifespan, the LIFI feature also “offers the same performance as an LED model, but at a lower price point.”
Panasonic’s new LIFI line is made up of the LCZ and LCX series of high definition televisions. The LCZ models can handle 1080p and come in 50-, 56-, and 61-inches for $1699, $1899, and $2199, respectively. The LCX models do 720p and come in 56- and 61-inches for $1699 and $1999, respectively.
The LCX series is available now, the LCZ series should be available by the end of August.
