Itunes users in New York state who complained about President Obama’s OMNIBUS SPENDING BILL should pipe down, since Gov. Patterson has dropped plans for that “iPod tax” that upset so many people. Some of the stimulus money will be used to make up the budget shortfalls that the “iPod tax” was supposed to cover.
A total of $1.3 billion in taxes have been eliminated from the proposed state budget. Yes, in a roundabout way, that’s still taxpayer money that is making up the shortfall, but now it’s not the dreaded “iPod tax,” so there.
Of course, New Yorkers, those Regular Joes, were relieved to hear the news.
“I’m glad he’s not going to do it,” said Neal Brown of Midtown. “I think a lot of the taxes were unfair.”
