Panasonic Floods Japan With 10 New 3D TVs

Panasonic has announced [JP] a total of ten new 3D TVs yesterday, two LCDs and eight plasmas. The LCD TVs will be part of the VIERA DT3 series, while the plasma models will be branded as VT3, GT3 and ST3 (glasses are required to view pictures in 3D for all of these displays).

Panasonic decided to offer the smallest 3D TVs as LCDs: buyers will be able to choose between a 32-inch (price: $2,080) and a 37-inch model ($2,330/pictured above).

Both displays are full HD, feature Panasonic’s “LED Black Panel” (IPSα panel with LED backlight and 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio), web connectivity (i.e. for Twitter, YouTube, Skype and Ustream), and USB HDD support.

The eight large plasma 3-D TVs range from 42-50 inches and will cost between $1,840 to about $4,660 (all are full HD).

The flagship (and most expensive) model, the 50-inch TH-P50VT3 (pictured above), comes with Panasonic’s “Full Black Panel II” for higher black level, 5,000,000:1 native contrast ratio, web connectivity, USB HDD support, and DLNA support.
