Last night I had a dream. In it, everyone in the world used just one word: Yo. “Yo” for hello, “Yo” for yes and no, “Yo” for I’m hungry. “Yo” for everything.
So imagine my surprise this morning when I wake up to see that Colbert has turned my nightmare into a reality.
Yes, Yo (the stupidly simple app that lets you send “Yo”, and only “Yo”, to your friends) has had the tech world talking for most of the week. Which has only led us to talk about it even more.
The app has even hit the top charts (currently at number 5) in free apps on the App Store.
Some people are taking the app seriously (at least, angel investors who injected $1.2 million into the app seem to be). Some people seem jealous of the app’s success. While others are merely ranting about the fact that the world has come to this.
Make your own decisions, but be sure to weigh in Colbert’s opinion. At the very least, it’ll make you laugh.
