Ford unveiled Sunday the newest Mustang in its lineup, which marks a number of firsts for the automaker. Not only is this the first all-electric Mustang, it’s also an SUV and the first vehicle to come out of Team Edison, Ford’s dedicated electric vehicle organization.
Here’s a closer look at the vehicle inside and out.
Ford Mustang Mach-E GT.
Note the front grille of this all-electric SUV.
Mustang Mach-E comes equipped with 19-inch machined-face aluminum wheels with high gloss black-painted pockets
Phone as a Key technology makes its debut in the Ford lineup with Mustang Mach-E. Using Bluetooth, the vehicle can detect customers’ smartphone as they approach, unlocking the Mustang Mach-E. Note the door handle location.
The flip-up arm rest doubles as a place to store a small purse or bag.
A cloth-covered sound bar runs across the front of the Mustang Mach-E. The speakers are Bang & Olufsen.
The double-cowl instrument panel is another traditional Mustang design integrated into the Mach-E.
A 15.5-inch screen and adaptive dash card interface includes features with touch, swipe and pinch controls. Note the volume control that pops out from the screen.
A wireless charging pad.
The Mach-E seats five.
The panoramic glass roof has special coating with UV protection that helps the interior stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
The Mach-E will be available in both Standard Range with a 75.7 kWh lithium-ion battery and the Extended Range with a 98.8 kWh battery. The extended range in a rear-wheel-drive configuration is targeting en EPA-estimated 300 miles of range.
A drainable front trunk storage unit provides 4.8 cubic feet of storage space.
