If you were having trouble accessing Instagram earlier, it was because the social network was experiencing a partial outage. A spokesperson for the company had told TechCrunch in an email that Instagram was aware of the issue and that it was working to get the app back to normal.
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram,” the spokesperson said. “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
The company also kept its users apprised of the situation through its Twitter account, which acknowledged the problem shortly after 1:30 p.m. EDT, noting that users were having trouble accessing the service.
