Bianca Caban
Vice President, HSBC Innovation Banking
Bianca Caban is a Vice President at HSBC Innovation Banking, the startup banking arm of HSBC, a $3 trillion global institution. Previously, she was a pre-seed and seed investor, mostly recently with AIX Ventures, an AI-focused venture firm co-founded by former Salesforce Chief Scientist, Richard Socher. Her foray into AI investing began as a Principal at Heartland Ventures, a venture capital firm with a network of strategic LPs in the Midwest, where she invested in AI applications in construction, supply chain, and manufacturing.
Before her time in venture capital, she was one of the first ten employees at Republic, an AngelList spin-off and now fintech unicorn, where she held various leadership positions including Head of Partnerships, and CEO of SheWorx, which was acquired by Republic in 2019.
Earlier in her career, Bianca worked for nearly a decade in financial services including at firms, Credit Suisse, BlackRock, and Atlas Merchant Capital, which sought investment in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Bianca is an alum of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers and Milken Institute Young Leaders Circle. She founded the annually held Harvard Latina Empowerment and Development Conference in 2007, and has served on the Harvard High School Interviewing Committee since 2010. Bianca received a B.A. from Harvard College and an MBA from Columbia University.
Originally from NYC, Bianca now resides in the Oakland Hills, where she enjoys local hikes with her husband and identical twin daughters.
