Nirmal Utwani

Nirmal was the third hire at Amplitude and the first engineer on the team. He has been with Amplitude for over 10 years. Currently, he is the Director of Growth Engineering and oversees the Amplitude offerings catered to Startups, like the Plus and Scholarship plans. Nirmal has experienced almost all of Amplitude’s journey, having joined 4 months after the company’s pivot from its original iteration as a Y Combinator-backed AI-voice startup called (Sonalight) into what ultimately became a publicly traded Analytics company. Nirmal is a graduate of the University of Pennslyvania, and he lives in SF and Amsterdam.
