Event Participant Terms & Conditions

  1. Privacy/Terms of Service: In order to register for this TechCrunch-hosted event (the “Event”), you agree to provide certain personal information (such as your name, email address, phone number and company affiliation) to TechCrunch Media LLC Inc. for the benefit of its brand TechCrunch (“TechCrunch Media LLC”, “we” or “our”), our participating partners and/or sponsors, if any, and our third party event platform provider(s) and other service providers to facilitate registration and Event logistics and communications.  Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by TechCrunch Media LLC’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. For EU residents, please visit TechCrunch Media LLC’s Privacy Policy to learn more about the data that TechCrunch Media LLC collects, the purposes for collection, and your rights in relation to such data.   2. Communications about Other Products or Services:  TechCrunch Media LLC may use the personal information you provide to contact you with information about other products and services that may be of interest to you. Our use of your information is governed by the TechCrunch Media LLC Privacy Policy and the TechCrunch Media LLC Terms of Service for the US. For those in Canada, please view the TechCrunch Media LLC Privacy Policy and TechCrunch Media LLC Terms of Service.  We also may share your personal information with the Event’s  sponsors so that they may contact you about their products and services. Sponsors’ collection and use of your data is governed by each sponsor’s privacy and other policies.
  3. Session Counting:  TechCrunch Media LLC, or its vendors or service providers, may deploy wireless tracking technologies to, for example, count the number of attendees at a specific session or other Event activity. Personal information may be collected for this purpose and used or shared in accordance with these Terms & Conditions. 
  4. Conduct:
    • You agree to comply with the TechCrunch Code of Conduct and any rules established by TechCrunch Media LLC and the Event venue, including without limitation health and safety protocols, such as COVID-19 prevention measures and contact tracing. 
    • You acknowledge and agree that only we and our Event sponsors and partners have the right to engage directly with Event attendees before, during, and after the Event by way of advertising, promotional materials, sweepstakes, contests, electronic communications, and other advertising and promotions.  
    • You are not authorized to host or organize an event in connection with or relating to the Event or TechCrunch Media LLC without our prior written consent in each instance.   
    • You acknowledge that you are not authorized to use, and have no right to use, any TechCrunch Media LLC company trademark(s), logo(s), service mark(s), trade name(s), and/or legal notice(s) without our prior written consent in each instance.
    • When using any applications in connection with the Event, including third-party applications for Event registration and logistics, you will not (i) make available viruses or any other computer code, files, programs or content designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of the applications or affect other users; (ii) interfere with or disrupt the applications or servers, systems or networks connected to the applications in any way; or (iii) access or collect data, or attempt to access or collect data, from the applications using any automated means, devices, programs, algorithms or methodologies, including but not limited to robots, spiders, scrapers, data mining tools, or data gathering or extraction tools, for any purpose without our express, prior written permission.
    • Violations of these policies could result in ejection from the Event and revoking of credentials without reimbursement. 
  5. Ticket & Badge Policies: 
    • By registering for the Event(s), you agree that each pass is applicable to the single person registered for that pass.  
    • We have the right to cancel purchased tickets if we determine that the tickets were obtained in breach or violation of these Terms & Conditions or otherwise fraudulently or wrongfully, or are being resold without authorization. 
    • A $75 badge reprinting fee will be assessed for any lost/stolen badges.  
    • The first and last name on a badge/ticket must match the name on the badge holder/ticket holder’s government-issued photo ID. All attendees are required to have their pass/badge and government-issued photo ID on them at all times during the Event(s) (not just during registration). If at any time the name on the badge does not match the name on the ID, access to the Event and Event venue may be revoked without refund or reimbursement.  
    • Badges are the property of TechCrunch Media LLC and can be confiscated or revoked at any time.  
    • In the event we offer the option to exchange ticket types as indicated on the Event registration page, you have the option to exchange the ticket type that you purchased only one (1) time.  If you elect to exchange your ticket to a more expensive ticket type, you will be responsible for paying the difference between what you originally paid and the current ticket price of the new ticket type before the change can be processed.  However, if you decide to exchange your ticket to a less expensive type, you are not eligible for a refund on the price difference regardless of the date of purchase.  Once an exchange occurs, we can no longer make additional ticket changes or revert back to the original ticket.  Certain ticket types have additional access and qualification restrictions; proof of qualification will be required before an exchange can occur.
    • In the event we offer a group discount in connection with the Event as indicated on the Event registration page, any such discount cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.  You acknowledge and agree that not all ticket types qualify for group discounts, and group discounts are limited.  If applicable, please follow the instructions on the specific event page to purchase discounted group passes.  Group passes must all be booked during one (1) single session under one (1) order in order to qualify for the discount – i.e., a group discount cannot be applied to multiple or accumulated registration sessions or to separate orders.  If you placed an order that qualifies for a group discount at a non-discounted rate, you have twenty-four (24) hours from the time of purchase to request a refund for the price difference.  Refunds will be made to the original form of payment.  Any requests made after that 24-hour grace period from the time of order(s) are not eligible for a refund.
  6. Minors:  Attendees who are minors (persons younger than 18 years old) must be accompanied at all times by an adult who is 18 years or older  who is legally authorized (e.g., the minor’s parent or legal guardian, or another adult who is authorized by such minor’s legal parent or guardian) to take legal responsibility for the minor.  For the avoidance of doubt, the ticket and badge policies apply to minors. Please note that some events and parties are only accessible to attendees who are 21 and over as indicated on the event registration page.  Some event content may contain mature themes (such as sex, violence, and drug use) that may not be suitable for minors. The minor’s parent or legal guardian is  responsible for managing and reviewing content and themes to see if it is suitable for the minor before, during, and/or after the Event(s).  If you are registering for the Event(s) on behalf of a minor, you warrant and represent that you are duly authorized to  agree to these Terms & Conditions on behalf of such minor.
  7. Event(s) Content:  TechCrunch Media LLC is not responsible for, and makes no representations or warranties relating to, the content or accuracy of speakers’ statements, presentations, or sessions, including any expert or professional content provided during the Event(s).  Such content does not purport to reflect the opinions or view of TechCrunch Media LLC or imply an endorsement or recommendation by TechCrunch Media LLC.  TechCrunch Media LLC is not responsible for any liability associated with such content.  
  8. Recording Policy:  You acknowledge that the Event(s) will be live streamed and/or recorded (including without limitation, photographed, audiotaped, videotaped, filmed, or recorded in written form) and may be made available for later viewing (in TechCrunch Media LLC’s sole discretion).  You acknowledge that all Event activities and attendees may be included in such recordings, and by participating in the Event(s), you irrevocably consent to being recorded in the manner set forth above and simultaneously live streamed/broadcast or included in recordings for later viewing, and you agree to release TechCrunch Media LLC and users of such recordings from liability or loss or damage to persons or property or for infringement of any rights.  Further, you expressly authorize and permit use of your name, likeness, image and voice and all reproductions thereof throughout the world in perpetuity without limitation and without any compensation.  You acknowledge that TechCrunch Media LLC is the exclusive owner of the live stream and recordings and any proceeds related thereto.  The live stream and recordings are for TechCrunch Media LLC’s or its licensees’ use only.  You agree not to make your own recordings of the Event.
  9. Cancellation/Refund Policy:  
    • All registration fees are nonrefundable unless provided otherwise in the Event-specific terms that you agree to when you register for the Event.  The cancellation policy for the Event(s), including the cut-off date(s) for refunds, if any, is (are) listed on the specific Event website and/or directly on your ticket. Please refer there for the cancellation/refund policy for the specific event that you are attending. 
    • If you receive a promotion or discount directly from TechCrunch Media LLC (e.g., through the TechCrunch website, newsletter, or a TechCrunch advertisement) on a pass type that you have already purchased, we will refund the total price difference, provided that:
      • you paid more than the current promotional offer rate;
      • the request is made within 7 days of your original purchase date by emailing events@techcrunch.com with proof of the promotion or offer (screenshot, email, etc.); and
      • the request is in conjunction with a current and live promotional offer that applies to your specific ticket type(s) purchased on TechCrunch.com.
    • Refunds will be made to the original form of payment.  Requests made after 7 days of the purchase date will not be considered or eligible.  In addition, these types of requests cannot be mixed with other promotional discounts or offers.  For clarity, we will not provide such refunds for offers made from third parties (e.g., Event partners or sponsors, Event speakers, or other Event attendees).
    • If you are unable to attend the Event, you may have the option to transfer your ticket to another person who is eligible for the same ticket type.  Please refer to the Event-specific terms that you agree to when you register for the Event for details regarding transferability, deadlines, request process, and other applicable terms.
  10. Participation in the Event: You acknowledge and agree that:
    • your access to Event sessions is subject to space allowance and availability; 
    • the Event schedule is subject to change without notice, and TechCrunch Media LLC does not guarantee the attendance of any exhibitor or speaker, or that any scheduled event or session will take place; 
    • you are solely responsible for arranging and paying for any travel, transportation, accommodations, meals, and travel authorization (e.g., visa, passport) required in connection with your attendance to the Event, and we are not responsible for arranging and/or paying for any of the foregoing; and
    • if an Event ticket includes food and/or beverages, your access to such food and beverages during the Event is subject to availability.

  12. Accessibility/Accommodations: For questions about accessibility of the Event, or to request accommodations, please contact events@techcrunch.com. Accommodation requests must be made a minimum of two weeks prior to the Event.

Disclaimer:  TechCrunch Media LLC does not make and specifically disclaims any representations and warranties, express or implied, regarding any content, product, service, career or job opportunity, or property in connection with the Event(s), including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement and any implied warranties arising from course of dealing or course of performance.
