Prof. Zhao brings behavioral science and transportation technology together to shape travel behavior, design mobility system and reform urban policies. He develops methods to sense, predict, nudge and regulate travel behavior, and designs multimodal mobility system that integrates autonomous vehicles, shared mobility and public transport. He sees transportation as a language to describe a person, characterize a city, and understand an institution. Prof. Zhao directs the JTL Urban Mobility Lab and the Transit Lab at MIT and leads long-term research collaborations between MIT and major transportation authorities and operators worldwide including London, Chicago, and Hong Kong. Prof. Zhao has founded and directs the MIT Mobility Initiative.

John Dolan
Principal Systems Scientist CMU Robotics Institute and CMU Argo AI Center for AV Research Faculty, Carnegie Mellon UniversityDr. John M. Dolan received his B.S.E. from Princeton University and his master’s and doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), all in mechanical engineering. He has been on the faculty of CMU’s Robotics Institute since 1991 and is Director of the Master of Science in Robotic Systems Development (MRSD) and RI Summer Scholars Programs. He has extensive experience in multirobot systems and autonomous navigation and control, and was the Behaviors team lead for CMU’s winning entry in the DARPA 2007 Urban Challenge race. He is PI for multiple projects in the CMU-Argo AI Autonomous Driving Center. He has been PI for DARPA, DOT, GM, NASA, NSF, and industry projects involving robots for autonomous driving, reconnaissance, exploration, manufacturing, environmental sensing, and reliable operation. Dr. Dolan is the former chairman of the SAE Unmanned Ground Vehicle Reliability Task Force, a member of the SAE On-Road Autonomous Vehicle Standards Committee, and a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has served on the program committee of numerous international conferences, including IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics and Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (AAMAS). He has extensive experience in creating working systems through industrial collaborations including ABB, Bombardier, GM, Kajima, Leidos, SAIC, and Shimizu. He is co-founder of three startup companies: Ottomatika, Discovery Robotics, and Retrofit AI. Dr. Dolan served as an active-duty and Reserve Army military intelligence officer, completing his reserve career as brigade commander of a Strategic Military Intelligence Group within the Military Intelligence Readiness Command.

Chow, MD is the Co-Director for the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostic Medicine. He joined the University of California, Irvine in December 2016 and holds an appointment as Assistant Professor-in-Residence for the Department of Radiological Sciences and Neurology. Dr. Chow completed his medical degree at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2010. He subsequently completed his radiology residency at Columbia University Medical Center through the Leonard Holman Research Pathway. During his residency, Dr. Chow received numerous awards including the RSNA Roentgen Resident/ Fellow Research Award. ARRS Resident in Radiology President’s Award, and RSNA Resident Research Grant Award. After completing residency in 2015, he completed his neuroradiology fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Chow joined the neuroradiology faculty at the University of California, Irvine. His work has led to several grant awards, over 40 peer-reviewed publications, 6 book chapters, and over 50 abstracts. Kai Wang
Director of Prediction, ZooxKai Wang is the Director of Prediction at Zoox. At Zoox, the Prediction team is responsible for modeling the future behavior of all dynamic agents (vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, etc.) around our vehicle so that we can navigate through the world in a safe and efficient manner. Kai has been with Zoox since 2016 and prior to that was a Software Engineer at Google working on Computer Vision. Karthik graduated from the Carnegie Mellon’s Robotics Institute where he had the opportunity to team up and build robots for marine and lunar exploration, AI models for robotic manipulation tasks etc. Prior to Carnegie Mellon he was involved in developing the planning and control software for robotic manipulators used in factory floors. Keith Fieldhouse
Director of Cyber-Physical Systems, KitwareKeith joined Kitware in May 2010 as a research and development engineer and was rapidly promoted to technical lead for his technical contributions and leadership across multiple projects on the Computer Vision Team, particularly the DARPA PerSEAS and VIRAT efforts. He was then promoted to an assistant director, where he demonstrated outstanding leadership on large, multi-year, multi-phase projects. Through these projects, which include DARPA Squad-X Core Technologies and DARPA URSA, he has developed a new area of business for Kitware in cyber-physical systems (CPS). This resulted in his most recent promotion to director of cyber-physical systems. Previously, Keith worked for IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation, and as an independent consultant building medical software for Apple Macintosh computers. He then took a position with Adobe Systems in Seattle, Washington, where he pioneered Adobe’s early online commerce activities and joined the Consumer Systems Group dedicated to bringing Adobe technology to non-traditional consumer computing devices. The Consumer Systems Group was spun out by Adobe as PictureIQ Inc. where Keith served as the head of engineering, architecting and developing award winning server technology for the then nascent online photo industry. Keith Fieldhouse graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He also holds a M.A. in Military History from Norwich University. More recently Keith worked at Simmetrix Inc, where he was the lead and principal architect of a Python-based rapid development environment for Simulation Based Design.
